Incorrect file icons are displayed in Finder
As shown in the screenshot above, even after you uninstall Bandizip from your Mac, the icons of archive files may not change to the default from ones associated with Bandizip.
This is not due to an error in the uninstallation but because cached icons still remain in Finder.
Troubleshooting
- Quit all running apps, and press Option–Command–W to close all windows.
- Open Terminal and enter the following commands in order.
- Restart your Mac.
sudo find /private/var/folders/ -name 'com.apple.dock.iconcache' -delete
sudo find /private/var/folders/ -name 'com.apple.iconservices' -delete
sudo rm -rf /Library/Caches/com.apple.iconservices.store
